This map shows proposed and partially constructed, large scale landscape connectivity projects underway across the world. These projects various seek to restore, rewild and reconnect fragmented ecosystems, halt desertification, provide public amenity and above all ensure that species can migrate in accordance with the pressures of climate change. Whilst communities have cared for certain landscapes in various ways throughout history, the scale and purpose of these connectivity projects is unprecedented and suggests that humanity is beginning to appreciate and attempt to manage the planet as a garden.
